Designing High Quality Birth Announcements

Birthday announcements are an exciting time for any family, and you will want to make the announcements as attractive as possible in order to share that excitement. A good birthday announcement can get the entire family excited about your recent addition to the family. Just like when designing birthday invitations, you will want to be as creative as possible to get everybody's attention. As with birthday announcements, it can also be a good time to get the other children in the family involved.

This is a great way to make sure siblings do not feel left out of the entire process.

When creating a birth announcement, design a theme that is appropriate for the gender of the newborn. This is a good way to give other family members and friends a cue as to what gifts might be appropriate for the occasion. When coming up with a theme for the card, try to be as creative as possible. A quick search on the internet will show you many ideas that you can work from. Birthday announcements are about sharing the excitement of a new family member, and as such it's a great time to show off your creativity.

In any theme, be sure to include at least the basics with your birthday announcement. The basics are mostly common sense items, such as the name of the baby and gender. Other potential items to include are things like the birth weight of the baby. This is of course completely optional, and birthday announcements certainly do not have to include this information.

Beyond the baby's name, gender, and age, there are really not many other requirements. If you intend on having a gathering to celebrate the baby, you will want to include the usual information about where and when this gathering will be. It is also generally a good idea to include a request that potential guests RSVP if they intend on coming to the gathering.

There are a couple of general tips to keep in mind if you are trying to save a little money on making birthday announcements. If you are working on a very limited budget, consider printing in black and white. This will save considerably on printing costs. It is also important that you print slightly more copies than you believe are needed. There are bound to be some mistakes, or more guests that you didn't initially remember. It is far cheaper to get everything done in one run at the printers, instead of requesting multiple printings. Be done with a single run of printing and you will save considerable amounts of money.

After you have sent off the birth announcements, be ready to receive well wishes and some gifts. It will pay to have thank you cards already purchased so that you can go ahead and write replies. You can keep thank you notes short, as people will understand that you are busy taking care of a newborn. Above all, avoid mentioning anything about taking gifts back for refunds, or anything about receiving the same gift from someone else.

Birthday announcements are a great opportunity to show off some creativity and let friends and family know about your newborn child. Remember to include the basic facts, but other than that, feel free to go all out. This is an exciting occasion, and the birthday announcements should reflect that excitement. There's no need to personalize birthday announcements for each recipient, as people are certain to understand that you are very busy at the moment.
